Our Story

Laurel Starr+/ is our barn's namesake and one of our very first Arabians. In November 2010, she lost her battle against laminitis and founder.
Laurel was a very special horse not only because of her intelligence and beauty, but also because of her ability to teach and partner.

The laurel plant represents longevity and success, and the bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) was used in ancient Greece and Rome as a crown of triumph.

We built Laurel Nobilis in her memory to provide the education, care, and love that she treasured.

Our Mission
At Laurel Nobilis, we strive to make true RIDERS. Not just teaching students how to get on a horse, how to hang on while the horse goes through the motions, and how to dismount.
A true rider is made...
-
through hours of practice
-
by learning discipline and control
-
by working in the barn and learning responsibility
-
by tacking up and grooming
-
by things not always going perfectly
-
by horses that are occasionally opinionated
-
by horses that love YOU for YOU
Why do we strive for this? Because riding is a partnership, and when the time and effort is put into building that relationship, we get...

-
horses that nicker when they're happy to see us
-
horses that will do a simple trick just to make us smile
-
horses that know when we are feeling down and need a nuzzle
-
horses that will bail us out when we make a mistake
-
horses that will challenge us when we need it
We believe that this environment makes a true rider. And that is why we do what we do.
